An Asian-American firm ranked as one of the top marketing firms in the Ad Age Rankings. The reason for the rankings, it’s because they had an 80% growth in their market as of 2006-2007, specifically in Hispanic, African American and Asian markets.
Givi Topchishvili (President and founder of Global Ad Strategies) states that: “sitting at the heart of our growth is our clients’ appreciation of the investment we continue to make in our interactive capabilities.” And the vice president of the firm said that: the key to successful and sustainable multicultural efforts lie in, first and foremost, focusing on the commonalties of consumer segments across various cultural communities and not in using cultural and linguistic differences as the foundation for all multicultural marketing efforts.

Dr. Shan Nair was awarded as one of the outstanding 50n Asian Americans in Business. Dr. Nair was a trained Ph.D nuclear physicist at Oxford University. Dr. nair alos has a background in high technology, software and accounting, and has also lived in 13 countries around the world as to becoming a multilingual person and putting him in an exceptional position to know about international issues.
President of AABDC John Wang said: “Asian Americans are a successful group of individuals and this is why our organization wants to recognize the talent among the community.”

Sahai Family awarding will be a part of the 2nd Annual Asian & Pacific Islander Student Leadership summit. The summit will be focusing on diversity, political vigor, education and community contribution.
A poet, songwriter and author Ishle Yi Park will be the speaker of this event. She is awarded as the 2004 Poet Lureate from Queens. Her art focuses on topics liken women, literature and culture.

“Business Beyond Boundaries, Here & Abroad,” is this year’s theme of the Largest Asian American Business Opportunity Conference CelebrAsian ’08 which is going to be held on May 27-29. There are a bundle of activities lined of on a three day conference, which includes workshops, informative meeting, networking sessions and many others that could help improve businesses in order to compete in today’s global marketplace.
The guest speaker of the said conference is Indra Nooyi Chairman and CEO of Pepsi Co. They will also be doing an event at the White House in order to recognize at hand the leaders of the program “50 Fastest-Growing Asian American Businesses.”

“Small business owners in the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities face unique challenges in accessing capital, government contracts and business counseling, particularly with language and cultural barriers,” as said by Rep. Mike Honda, Chair of CAPAC at indiapost.com…
The conversation was important, because it tackles the steps in evaluating the needs for the improvement and opportunities of the Asian American Small Businesses.
“Small businesses have historically lifted our economy out of hard economic times, but we need to provide the tools that allow them to concentrate on innovation and growth,” said, Senator Benjamin L. Cardin, a member from the Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee.

Rose Chen is the new Senior Vice-President in Commercial Banking for Encore Bank. With 15 years of banking and financial proficiency, she could really be a good asset to the bank. She was the previous Senior Vice-President for Sterling Bank and MetroBank.
She took up B.S. International Economics at Texas Tech University and with several affiliations.

South Korea on Friday agreed to open up to U.S. beef imports after Washington pledged to raise safety standards, boosting prospects for a sweeping trade deal ahead of a summit between leaders of the allies later in the day. South Korea’s farm ministry said in a statement that imports of U.S. beef will be expanded gradually and it would allow in bone-in beef from cattle under 30 months as a first step.

Respondents to an M&A survey predict a higher level of activity in the next 18 months with China, India and Southeast Asia ranking high on both perceived opportunity and attendant risks. M&A activity in the region is expected to grow, according to a survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit with Marsh, Mercer and Kroll, but concerns remain about investments in China, India and Southeast Asia.
