Around the Island
Mary Woodward’s book entitled “In Defense of Our Neighbors,” is expected to be distributed by September after expected printing next Month. Her parents, Milly and Walt Woodward, who supported the Bainbridge Island’s Japanese American community during the wartime was the main character of Mary’s book.
Previously short funded for publishing, the book received several anonymous donors after popularization on the internet. It also that it reached Japanese newspapers which helped gain more audience.
