Cubs pull Fukudome shirt after Sun-Times report
Cubs management who received e-mails from offended fans immediately investigated and put a stop to the sale of Kosuke Fukudome T-shirt bearing a racist image. The Cubs also demanded to cease production of the “poor taste” t-shirts.
Sun-Times reported on Friday the sale of the said T-shirts near Wrigley Field. The shirt used the traditional Cubs cartoon bear face but with slanted eyes and wearing oversized Harry Caray-style glasses. It was accompanied by the words “Horry Kow!” scrawled in cartoonish “Japanese” script. The production and sale was discovered unlicensed.
