Asian Stocks Rise in U.S.; Chunghwa, Taiwan Semiconductor Gain
Asian stocks advanced in U.S. trading after Chunghwa Telecom Co.’s profit beat analysts’ estimates and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. reported sales jumped. Chunghwa climbed 50 cents to $25.05. Taiwan Semiconductor, the world’s largest supplier of made-to- order chips, said its sales in March increased 21 percent to NT$26.562 billion. The stock advanced 32 cents to $10.51.
