Asian-American becomes highest ranking LAPD officer
Terry S. Hara is being promoted from commander to deputy chief and is slated to head the West Bureau operations section which makes him the highest ranking Asian- American in Los Angeles Police Department history today. The promotion ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. on the Athletic Field at the Los Angeles Police Academy, 1880 N. Academy Drive, in Elysian Park and hundreds of officers and city officials are expected to attend it.
