Asian Woman Owned Firms Highest Sales Among Female Minorities
According to the Survey of Business Owners, 2002, there were 8547 female minority owned businesses in Minnesota with 608 million dollars in sales. 895 of these firms had employees employing 5449 with an annual payroll of 90 million dollars. Nationally, there were 1.5 million minority female owned businesses with $119 billion in revenue employing close to a million people and with an annual payroll of $21 billion. These firms made up 23 percent of all female owned firms in the United States. There were more than half a million Black and Latino female owned firms. Asian female owned firms had the highest revenue, employer firms, employees and annual payroll.
