The Associated Press profiles Noriaki Kinoshita, 24, who hopes to be the first Japanese football player to suit up for an NFL game.

Kinoshita, a receiver, spent the past three years playing in the now-defunct NFL Europa, where his performance earned him an invitation to the Atlanta Falcons’ training camp and appearances in a few exhibition games.

Kinoshita grew up in Osaka, Japan, and started playing football at age 5.

Actually, two Japanese dudes suited up and played in an exhibition game for the Pittsburgh Steelers several years ago… so this dude with the Atlanta Falcons will not be the first, should he make the team.
